Nice shot came up today of Portland, Maine sometime in the 20's, with the trolleys that no longer exist, and the cobblestones that only are exposed on 2 streets, but underly it all. Check it out, who has the requisite pre-war skills to name them all?

Man I wish I had those skills. I also wish it was easier to get into prewar cars. I'd love to own a Model T someday.

the first car on the left in guessing is a Chevy or Buick based on the visor and the back had of the body, second car is a model T l, I think the third in line is a T as well. The 4th car in not a ford, that I'm sure of based in the fender profile:

Left most, I think a ca. '27 Tudor. ('26 below).

Gigantor C pillar and roof shape, mostly, though the visor in my sample isnt' a perfect match.

Seconding Camaroboy that the third is probably a very late T - if not, something obscure. Not even Essex was a good match.

Fourth in line - maybe an Essex?

Kinja'd!!!

It's something with a peaky radiator shell like a Ford, but you're right the fender's wrong.

The middle period T, sure, could have been in a 1920 picture. The others, no way.

The third one is a Camry coupe.

Could be, the 20s are the hardest cars to pick apart since from 20 feet back they look the same unless there was a very obvious styling element

Ts are actually somewhat affordable. By somewhat, I mean "armor your checkbook", but they're nothing compared to some others.

The middle year ones are some of the cheapest, due to large numbers - I think the wood firewall early ones are insanely in demand.

You know I've never actually looked at listings before for some reason. I knew the Ts weren't bad; my main concern is that I could never use a car that old for anything practical, and it will be a little while before I have the space and money for a pure fun car. Someday, perhaps. My dad has a friend who restores them, I vaguely remember riding in one he drove to our house when I was a little kid. Maybe I should get in touch with him. I'm also planning on doing a "Model T Driving School" at a car museum near me, probably the summer after this one.
